Who are we?
Tim and Elle Tandy, a husband and wife team in Forbes NSW running a 24/7 heavy vehicle break down service.
A mid 2008 holiday to the family farm saw Tim doing a few casual repair jobs for some friends and neighbours. A few turned into many, and it wasn’t long before Tim was approached by larger fleet companies to carry out all their maintenance and repairs. By August 2008 Tim had registered as a Sole Trader and Tim Tandy Diesel Repairs started. We offered a mobile workshop with 24-hour, 7-day service. TTDR was able to service local farms and businesses, maintaining all aspects of equipment and vehicles.
By 2012 we started taking on more and more interstate truck break downs from the highway, this led to the decision to buy a shed and provide a workshop service to our customers. 18 Durham Street Forbes became TTDR’s permanent home. This is where you could find Tim and Elle working full time together until the birth of their first son Samson in March 2014. This cut Elle’s workdays back to 2-3 days continuing through to the arrival of their sons Declan in September 2016 and Oliver in October 2019.
In March of 2019 we had a name change and started trading as Tandy Diesel Repairs, at the same location, same breakdown service and same Tim and Elle, just adding to our service with a wider range of vehicle diagnostics, mechanical services and updating our breakdown service as well as adding some more staff members along the way.
Speaking of adding to our service, in August 2020 we were presented the opportunity through Wagga Trucks in Wagga Wagga NSW to be a Sub - Agent for Mack, UD and Volvo trucks. This service also allows us to be a supplier of new spare parts and diagnostics for Mack, UD, and Volvo. TDR can carry out warranty repairs, service, and maintenance along with vehicle recall work
Working alongside Wagga Trucks and Volvo Group Australia has allowed us to expand to provide an efficient department with repair, adjusting, maintaining and general servicing capabilities for our customers of both scheduled and breakdown work.
